about

This came from a weird place.
I got a ukulele for my 19th birthday, and I immediately started to play and record with it. Around this time, I was listening to a lot of spaghetti western scores.
I was inspired by this music to write my own musical western concept album with no words, using only the ukulele and occasional shouting as the instrumentation to tell the story of Cotton Mouth, a mute outlaw who comes to a small town only to meet his horrific demise in the end.
All of the music was recorded in a 2 hour period on a humid night in March, using a terrible microphone that ends up capturing not only the ukulele, but every other sound you hear, giving the album a very live tone.
Part One is about his upbringing and his settling into the town. Part two is coming soon.
...Oh God this was a mistake...
